Fractal Citra

on February 28, 2017 No comments

Fractal Citra is the second release from our small-batch Research Series. A fractal is something simple at the core yet can produce wonderful and amazingly complex results. The fractal series only uses pale malt and a straight forward hop bill (simple). We will use these beers to investigate how different hops and hop combinations manifest through our processes, allowing us to optimize both our use of hops and our hopping techniques.

Fractal Citra pours a hazy-straw yellow releasing aromas of bright tropical passion fruit, pineapple, lychee, and hint of mango (complex). The taste is resinous pineapple juice with a slightly creamy mouthfeel and a firm but rounded bitterness. The menagerie of characteristics makes the name “Fractal Citra” warranted indeed.

Vulgar Display of Flower

on February 21, 2017 No comments

Vulgar Display of Flower is a tribute to an aggressive yet balanced assault on the senses. It blends East-meets-West coast DIPA with our own Equilibrium twist. It is dry, bitter, piny, resinous, yet remains smooth, juicy, and drinkable. This concoction displays the hop flower’s assertive yet delicious nature and hits draught accounts this week. Enjoy.

Casey

on February 15, 2017 No comments

We want to thank everyone who participated in our release of There And Back Again aged on Apricots and Peaches. We are pleased to announce our second bottle release: Casey, our bright and complex farmhouse ale, this Saturday 02/18/2017 from 12– 4 PM. The release is at the Brewery for $10 per each 750 ml bottle with a limit of 6 bottles per person (subject to change as needed).

The Beer
Casey is a farmhouse ale built by the inspiration to share beer with people close to heart. She is pale, tart, delicate, complex with a bit of pleasant funk, and dry hopped with a touch of Nelson Sauvin. This beer is unfiltered, unpasteurized, naturally carbonated and will continue to evolve over time if properly cellared.

.
The Release
The release is scheduled from 12 – 4 on Saturday 02/18/2017 onsite at the brewery, which is located at 22 Henry St in Middletown, NY. Hopefully it will be just like the last release. To comply with fire regulations, the restaurant and taproom will be off limits to patrons and tours; however, we are cleared to have people inside the actual brewery main floor itself, which is where the bottle release will take place. We should have a limited amount of Casey bottles to open for samples and we will be pouring two of our fresh DIPAs for onsite tastings: 1) MC^2; and 2) Vulgar Display of Flower (not available to take off site… yet). Members of our EQcrew will be onsite to assist with parking, entry, exit, sales, samples, and casual discussion. This is likely the last bottle release before we open the taproom.

on February 14, 2017 No comments

Better late than never right? After almost two years (and a lot of requests), we are doing another sweatshirt order. They are $55 (tax included). In the future, we will maintain stock of these sweatshirts, but this is a custom order to be picked up at the brewery only. The window to order these sweatshirts is until Wed, 2/22/2017.

This stylish and versatile hoodie is modeled here by our good friend Eleanor Katharine (not included). The standard features include:
– Water resistant fleece body (good for spill-prone environments)
– Massive oversized detachable hood (good for rolling deep and for spills)
– Ribbing at cuffs and waistband (maintains svelte lines)
– Antique nickel eyelets and tipped draw chord (indestructible)
– Media pocket & eyelet in front pocket (real-time soundtrack to your life-movie)
– Thumbholes at cuffs (helps you drink and fight faster with less beer up sleeve)

This is a unisex sweatshirt and the manufacturer recommends men order true-to-size, and women should order one size smaller. The following sizes are available for each respective color:

Black: XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL
Charcoal: XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL
Classic Navy: S, M, L, XL, XXL

The logo is available in either white or black, yielding all the following possible options (see image).

1) Sweatshirt base color (Black, charcoal, or Classic Navy)
2) Size of respective color (see above)
3) Logo color (Black or White)

You will receive an invoice by e-mail and a follow up e-mail with instructions on when to pick up your apparel.

Fluctuation

on February 7, 2017 No comments

So we brewed some pretty crazy wort today. This belongs to Fluctuation, our all citra DIPA. Since we’re getting close to the taproom and restaurant opening, Pete and Ryan convinced Ricardo to let us use a little more citra than usual. This beer will have the most hops we’ve added yet. We think you’re all gonna like it!
