Photon (4.8% ABV) is our light and crushable American Pale Ale loaded with pacific northwest hops. It pours a very hazy orange, releasing well-blended notes of apricot, tangerine, peach, mango, and pineapple. It tastes of soft juicy tropical fruits, hop resins, and a hint of biscuit.

dHop1 and dHop12

on July 11, 2018 No comments

This Saturday 7/14 from 11:30am-6pm at the brewery we will be introducing dHop12 along with the return of dHop1. Both beers are $20 per 4pk with a limit of 1 case each per person (limits subject to change)

dHop is our DIPA series that investigates how changing different aspects of hops changes our DIPAs, which will allow us to optimize our hops and hopping procedure.

dHop12 is our 8.2% Amarillo/Citra DIPA. Dhop12 is packed with hop oils and pours a very hazy tangerine releasing notes of orange/pineapple, peach, and citrus. The taste is juicy clementine coated in sticky hop resins.

dHop1 is our 8.5% DIPA with an intense mosaic forward hop bill. Applying what we’ve learned from this series, we were able to pull a very bright and tropical mosaic. It pours a very lively tangerine color, releasing notes of bright citrus, tropical melon, cream, and just a touch of dank earth. The taste is a juicy piney tropical melon, with layers of hop resins that roll around the tongue making it extremely drinkable.

More to come.

Meet Harry!

on July 10, 2018 No comments
Meet Harry, he works in packaging here at the brewery. He coordinates with the team for canning and bottling runs, operates the line, performs quality control and machine maintenance, label application, storage, etc. Anything that makes sure beer is going out the way we want it. He helps wherever he can and aspires to be a jack-of-all-trades for EQ. He is also the king of defending lager from haters.

Speed Round:

How Did you get into beer? I went to school up in Vermont, eventually drank a lot of Switchback and Heady with my pizza. After uni, I started off at a bottle shop and then spent time learning a ton working for a mobile canning operation.

What are some of your hobbies?
They include singing and percussion. Interests include seltzer, meeting dogs, spooky sci-fi and going dancing with friends.

What are some of your favorite EQ beers? Fluctuation for pure flavor, Mmm…Osa for my heat wave beer but Austin Boysenberry is my jam. Super excited to see how it tastes in the future.

Do you prefer the Pool or Beach and why?
I can get dramatic about all the sand but I’d pick the beach. I love the sound of the waves and hunting for seaglass.

We all love visiting The Holy Dog, what is your go-to order?
I always get the Chilean because I’m weak for avocados. That and anything special Chino is slinging that day.

What are you listening to recently music-wise?
Lately lots of ‪Otis Redding‬, ‪Courtney Barnett‬, ‪Frank Ocean‬ & Beach House. 808 kicks to get in the zone and ambient to wind down. Anything goes, though.
On packaging days 80s and 90s mixes keep the team going.

What is your favorite memory at EQ so far?
Tough call, but I’ll say General Relativity variants with the whole crew on St. Paddy’s Day. One of my first Saturdays as an official employee and one for the ages.

Special Relativity Crowlers!

on July 5, 2018 No comments

This Saturday 7/7 from 11:30AM – 6PM at the brewery, along with Straight Outta Middletown, Fluctuation and MC^2 we will be selling crowlers of Special Relativity (9.5% Imperial Stout). $15 each, limit 3 per person.

Special Relativity is a special case of General Relativity, which focuses more on time (and space) as opposed to gravity. To pay homage to this theory, which gave rise to E = MC2, we brewed a stout that’s a special case of our stout General Relativity. For Special Relativity 1, we brewed this beer with a healthy dose of oats. This oatmeal stout pours viscous black releasing aromas of creamy chocolate, roasted coffee, oats, toasted marshmallow, vanilla, with a touch of dark fruit out of tan-mousse head. Its flavor fallows the aroma with a full creamy body and an aggressive bitterness to balance the sweet, which maintains its drinkability.

We will also pour 2 variants of this stout before the release (not available to go):
Time to wake up – Special Relativity with Coffee
Breakfast Time is Relative – Special Relativity with Coffee, Maple, and Lactose

We will also have crowlers of:
dHop4, dHop11, TABA and Mobius for sale.

Fluctuation!

This Saturday 7/7 from 11:30AM – 6PM at the brewery, along with Straight Outta Middletown we will also have cans Fluctuation for sale. $20 per four pack limit 1 case per person, limits subject to change.

Fluctuation pours a very hazy tangerine color, releasing bright tropical notes of passion fruit, mango, pineapple, and lychee with an undercurrent of sorbet and cream. Fluctuation tastes highly resinous and tropical with an assertive yet soft bitterness. We consider Fluctuation to be perfectly unbalanced.
This batch exhibits a level of EQ juice that we haven’t seen before. We are very excited for you to try it.

More to come..

Straight Outta Middletown!

This Saturday 7/7 from 11:30am-6 pm at the brewery, we will be selling cans of Straight Outta Middletown. $22 per four pack, limit one case per person.

????????
You are now about to witness the strength of hop knowledge.
Straight outta Middletown, crazy-ass scientist named Pete Proof.
From Equilibrium, the brewery with scholastic aptitude.
When Flow goes in, I’m straight scoring,
With these hops that Ryan just poured in,
If you need juice
Call my boy Proof
We got the hops locked down
And this triple be the truth!
????????
Written by Pete aka Proof
Will aka Flow

Equilibrium’s Beer series are Research, Inspiration, and when we feel a beer is ready, it’s promoted to our Equilibrium series. This beer comes straight out of our Inspiration series. We were laughing at this silly pic while listening to a staff favorite song making jokes while drinking dHop2 and going… how good would dHop2 be as a TIPA. Straight out of Middletown was born.

Straight out of Middletown (10% ABV) is dHop2s big brother. dHop2 is a DIPA that investigates the interplay between our ale strain and an intensive Mosaic and Citra forward hop bill woven four times into its creative process. It pours a very murky tangerine color, releasing notes of orange juice (with pulp) and earthy grass. The taste is highly resinous, dank-citrus, pine juice, with a chewy mouth feel and a firm and pointed bitterness.

We will also have cases of MC^2 available at $18 per 4-PK. Limit 1 case per person.
