When Other Half Brewing Company asked to create a Middletown Version of All Together, we immediately said yes. All Together is a worldwide, open-ended beer collaboration created to raise support for the industry we love so much. It’s an effort to raise awareness and provide relief, even in the smallest way, to those who are struggling because of the COVID-19 pandemic. A portion of the proceeds of our All Together sales will be going to The Restaurant Opportunities Centers (ROC) Coronavirus Relief Effort which works to provide relief and resources to restaurant workers affected by the coronavirus crisis.
Our version of All Together was brewed with the OH recipe on top our special water profile and a few other Middletown touches. Aromas of aromatic citrus and fresh cut pineapple this beer explodes with notes of vibrant fruit punch, pineapple juice, and light floral notes while finishing with one of the biggest #EQjuice profiles found in one of our single IPA’s yet.
As we are sure you’ve noticed, every brewery was asked to put their own twist on the label art. We chose a very poignant image, not knowing at the time it was taken, it would be one of the last bustling Saturdays our taproom would open to the public, when we were in fact and truly, All Together. Until we can do that again, stay safe and stay positive!

Today 4/24/2020, starting at 12pm for pre- order pickup and delivery throughout NYS and Washington, D.C., we are happy to introduce Equilibrium’s next experimental coffee stout variant, Rho – Lotus and Oberon (10.0% ABV Imperial Coffee Stout with a touch of maple syrup and lactose) at $16 per 500ml bottle. No Limits, Minimum of 3 required for delivery without hops.
In Science, the symbol most often used for density is ρ (the lower case Greek letter Rho). We used the Rho grain bill to create a stout with a dense mouthfeel and a dialed back bitterness. To help elevate this into a coffee stout, we worked closely with Mike and the experts at Mostra Coffee. Mostra Coffee is an artisan micro-roasting company that sources, roasts, brews, and serves only high-grade specialty coffee. Mostra was recently named a top three finalist for Roaster of the Year 2019 from Roast Magazine, and won Best Original Cold Brew and Best Signature Cold Brew at the Cold Brew City Competition.
Collectively, we chose a blend of unique washed single origin ‘Vietnam Lotus’ coffee, which has notes of dark chocolate, date, baking spice, butterscotch while ‘Brazil Oberon’ is chocolate and nutty. This viscous stout was further conditioned on maple syrup and lactose to complement and round the distinct notes of these unique beans
Rho pours jet black with a saturated caramel colored head. This Lotus and Oberon coffee create an extremely integrated and well-balanced beer. Its aroma is dark chocolate, roasted coffee, caramel, butterscotch, and sugar. The taste is a milky dark chocolate, coffee, maple, and a lingering coffee backbone with light bitterness. It is silky, creamy, and viscous.

The Julia Set is named after the French mathematician Gaston Julia. This complex set exists as a by-product of the Mandelbrot set and was devised while studying complex dynamics during the early 20th century. This set of complex numbers can cause drastic changes in the sequence of iterated functions.
Tying this into the newest beer of our series, we scaled up from Fractal using a super simple grain bill of 2-Row and our specific fractal fermentation profile before intensely hoping it with a Mosaic and El Dorado whirlpool and a dry hop of Citra, Mosaic, Strata and El Dorado.
Super Fractal Julia Set pours a vivid hazy yellow with an aroma of tropical citrus, ripe red berries, and candied lemon peel. Big flavors of navel orange, mango, stone fruit, currants, and berry come alive in a dangerously drinkable and smooth #EQjuice finish. The quest to have you seeing spirals and weird shapes continues.

Today at opening we’ll be selling our newest beer, Fulcrum (8.0% DIPA) at $20 per 4-Pack. No Limit.
It will be available for curbside pick-up as well as delivery throughout New York State and Washington, D.C.
A Fulcrum is the point on which a lever rests. The fulcrum pivots and adjusts to keep everything in balance and as close to ideal as possible given the situation. The craft beer industry has been thrown for a loop these last few weeks and we have all been doing our best to pivot and find our fulcrum. Along with our friends and peers we’ve tried to adapt during these difficult times. We want this beer to be a reminder that even under less than ideal situations, find your resiliency and let’s bounce back and grow from the challenge.
Fulcrum was brewed with a base of white wheat and oats for a soft base. We added Citra and Idaho-7 in the whirlpool and dry hopped it with Nelson, Strata, and Citra. Fulcrum pours a beautiful vivid yellow. As soon as you crack it open bright notes of grass and citrus permeate. Flavors of passionfruit, cannabis, and white wine grapes meld together beautifully with each sip. The buildup of dank juicy fruit counters with a light and balanced bittereness in the finish offering a fulcrum for a beer with such unique and powerful flavor.

When movie buffs Dan and Joe from Florida’s Arkane Aleworks came to visit we spent a good amount of time discussing our favorite movies. Snatch topped the list and we were all soon spitting one of our favorites lines: “For every action, there is a reaction [And a Pikey reaction… is quite a ****ing thing]” came up. This catch phrase also happens to be Newton’s Third Law of Motion. After making that connection, we rolled with it and our beer was born. We felt so accomplished blending physics with Snatch we even added Sir Isaac himself to the Snatch Crew (see label). So what happens when you interact Mosaic and Galaxy and scale up to a big Triple? Magic…
We started with a Fractal grain bill and a Mosaic whirlpool before an aggressive dry hop of Mosaic and Galaxy. For Every Reaction, There Is A Reaction pours a deep hazy tangerine and has an explosive aroma as soon as you crack the can open. Bright notes of Papaya, Mango, Berry, and Stone Fruit take the lead in a beautiful melody of tropical fruit flavors. A resinous and gummy mouthfeel coats the tongue as the big #EQjuice flavors blossom. Dangerously smooth and drinkable for a 10% beer, this beer may slow your reactions quickly so be careful.

During our late-night Zoom call with Johnny, we discussed working on a beer that will tie in an important message during these unprecedented and challenging times: Stay Positive. Optimism creates opportunity and pessimism kills it. Expecting good things helps formulate actions to produce good things. We are all in this together and we want you to remember to always see your glass as Half Full. If you have an empty glass, crack one of these cans, make it 100% full, then half full, enjoy and reflect on positive thoughts during this virtual tropical vacation.
We started with one of our all-time favorite beers: Sexual Fluctuation. We are extremely optimistic that upping the hopping rate, adding Sabro and a bit of lactose will keep your glasses at least Half Full. Half Full pours a bright vivid yellow with an extremely pungent juice forward nose. The first sip is intoxicating with bright flavors of passion fruit, tangerine, pineapple and coconut flakes spritzed with fresh squeezed lime juice. After the explosion of the tropical fruit like characteristics, the creamy popsicle like finish coats the palate and our #EQjuice finish completes your sip. Luckily with your glass Half Full you can go in for another sip. Stay safe.

Barrel Aged Rho (12% Imperial Stout), our latest collaborative effort with Mostra Coffee will be going LIVE on Eventbrite, Monday 4/13/20 9AM at $22 per bottle + Eventbrite fee. Limit is one bottle per person/credit card. This bottle will NOT be available for walk up sales at the brewery. All sales will take place on Eventbrite.
After letting Rho sit undisturbed during its metamorphosis for nearly one year in a select Willet bourbon barrel we are pleased to bring you Barrel Aged Rho treated with Anaerobic honey processed Ethiopia Sidama coffee.
BA Rho pours pitch black with notes of dark chocolate brownie, dried orange peel, with hints of vanilla and honey. The mouthfeel is silky and creamy with an exquisite coffee backbone and an assertive barrel presence. BA Rho integrates the components of beer, coffee, and barrel together and let’s them shine in unison.
In order to do our part to keep everyone safe and distanced, we’ll be releasing this bottle via Eventbrite with options for In-person pickup or delivery within NYS over a one week period.

Fractal Citra/Mosaic (6.8% IPA) investigates the interplay between Citra and Mosaic, and our revised hopping processes.
Fractal Citra+Mosaic pours a resinous-hazy-straw yellow releasing complex aromas of dank citrus, passion fruit, berries, earthy grass, and tropical melon. The taste is resinous, dank pineapple juice with a touch of pine. It ends with a slightly creamy mouthfeel and a firm but rounded bitterness.

At our noon opening and on our website for pre-order and delivery we’ll be selling Strawberry Zeppelin, a collaborative effort with our friends from Crosby Hop Farm
and Hops Direct LLC at Puterbaugh Farms (6.5% IPA) $16 per 4-pk. No Limit!
Despite not having actual Strawberries, Strawberry Zeppelin is an IPA brewed to highlight Belma hops grown at a Puterbaugh Farms in Mabtin and processed by Crosby Hops.
We paired the Belma with Cashmere to help boost the flavor profile. Strawberry Zeppelin pours bright yellow with flavors of mixed berry, underripe strawberry and raspberry. It has a pleasant berry earthiness and a bit dankness. This beer is extremely crushable and is a fun way to exhibit berry notes without actually using them. Thanks to Puterbaugh and Crosby for working with us on this one!

The Mandelbrot Set is named after Mathematician Benoit Mandelbrot. It’s a set of complex numbers for which the function does not diverge and are bounded in absolute value. Following the previous Fractal Sets and continuing the series framework, we scaled up from Fractal using a super simple grain bill of 2row and our specific fractal fermentation profile before intensely hoping it with a Citra whirlpool and a dryhop of Sabro, Strata Galaxy, and Amarillo.
Super Fractal Mandelbrot Set pours a vivid hazy yellow with an aroma of tropical citrus and grapefruit. The flavor comes alive with decadent tangerine, stone fruit, and berry, with a touch of coconut and a zesty lime finish.
