Radium

on April 29, 2020 No comments
Today we will be selling cans of Radium (8% DIPA) $20 per 4-pk. No Limit. Pre-order for curbside delivery and delivery (starting 4/6) can be made on our website. We also have a safe table set up outside for walk-ups.
Back on March 8th, Kristen, Jess, and Michelle helped out on make a DIPA to honor International Women’s Day. A large number of Equilibrium employees are Woman and have helped grow us to what we are today. Radium is our oude to the woman who make the beer industry go round. We point to Marie Curie, the first woman to win a Nobel Prize and the first person — man or woman — to win a nobel prize twice. With her husband, Marie’s efforts led to the discovery of Radium, which led to the discovery and development of X-rays.
With Ryan and Johns help, Kristen, Jess, and Michelle used a white wheat malt base and a blend of blend of azacca, loral, el dorado, and Idaho gem. Radium pours a bright yellow with a flavor profile of papaya, orange slices, and melon with a light dankness and a #EQjuice finish.

MoksaMarga

on April 29, 2020 No comments

At Noon today we will sell cans of MoksaMarga (8.0% DIPA) a collaboration with our friends from Moksa Brewing Company at $20 per 4-pk. **We are temporarily removing limits**. Order ahead for curbside pickup (We open at 12PM) or schedule delivery. Delivery orders must be in by 6pm the night before your zone (check out stories for zone graphic)
Moksa is a term for various forms of emancipation, enlightenment, and liberation while Marga is The Path to achieve enlightenment. Together they create radiant awareness that underlies all experience. These concepts meld with our logo, which is a hand-drawn circle created from one uninhibited brushstroke to express a moment when the mind is free to let the body create; a circle of enlightenment. Through science we strive to do something similar to hops by liberating hop compounds from the hop flower in a circle of reinvention to form delicious liquid.
We started with a heavy dose wheat and oats before heavily hopping this beer with Citra and Rakau. MoksaMarga pours a vibrant yellow with aroma and notes of tropical fruit, candied pineapple, mango, and tangerine. It continues to morph into a juicy buildup with our #EQjuice profile and soft smooth finish that will slip you into a meditative state.

Sweep the Leg

on April 29, 2020 No comments

At Noon today we will be selling cans of Sweep The Leg (10% TIPA) a collaboration with our friends at Civil Society Brewing at $22 per 4-pk. Limit one case per person. Curbside pickup starts today at noon but delivery will start on Friday in NYC for this beer. Delivery Quota has already been met for today and tomorrow.
When Karl and Evan were up to Collab there was a lot of fun about one of our favorite 80’s movies because of Pete’s Cobra Kai inspired jean jacket vest (see Collab pic from a few weeks ago. Shout out to @mattyeaats!). Not knowing then that this beer would be released in a time of crisis to friends, peers, and industry; it sends an important message of resilience and not giving up. As taught by Mr. Miyagi: Much of life’s adversity is out of your control and can seem unfair, but that’s no excuse to accept defeat. These situations can be a key component of growth. Covid-19 may be sweeping our legs now, but let’s show them our Crane Kick. We hope you’re hanging in there and staying safe.
Flaked oats and wheat make up the base before a Citra and Simcoe whirlpool. We dry hopped it with Citra, Galaxy, Sabro, Motueka and Simcoe. Sweep The Leg pours a bright tangerine with notes of a big tropical fruit salad. The taste is ripe tropical island fruit, flaked coconut, and assorted citrus in a creamy #EQjuice forward finish. This beer will sweep your leg if you’re not careful with it

Shared Space

on April 29, 2020 No comments

Starting today at our 12pm opening, we are proud to release bottles of Shared Space (6.0% Wild Ale) for sale. $13 per 750ml bottle/ $8 per 375ml.
With Equilibrium Brewery focusing on the liquid, and Equilibrium Bonfire focusing on the food, our Shared Space will be a junction of good beer, good eats and most importantly, good people. A sense of community and belonging is something we pride ourselves on here and we are happy to introduce our second iteration of the series to commemorate that.
Shared Space is a blended wild ale with beautiful complexity. We started off brewing two separate bases that could be thought of as cousins of Austin and TABA and then added additional strains of Brettanomyces. It pours a beautiful golden yellow and has an intoxicating aroma. Conditioning since November, Shared Space has notes of anjou pear, honeysuckle and bright citrus zest with a soft body, mild tartness and balanced acidity. This beer is tasty right out of the gate, but will continue to evolve in proper cellar conditions.

Barrel Aged Austin Gin

on April 29, 2020 No comments

This Saturday 03/14, starting at 11:30am at 2 South Street, we are pleased to brining you the second beer of this series, Barrel Aged Austin Gin (6.5 % ABV Farmhouse Ale). $20per 750ml // Limit 1pp and $11 per 375ml // Limit 2pp. Limits subject to change.
Austin starts off as a delicate, and complex farmhouse ale with a bit of pleasant funk and gentle acidity. We took one of our most balanced farmhouse ales yet, and let it rest in Gin barrels that previously held Unlikely Foragers for a little over 10 months. It’s since rested over a year combined in both barrels and bottles. The metamorphosis is beautiful producing a delicate and layered flavor of mild spring citrus, light spice, juniper and assorted botanicals with a mild oak presence. This ale is gentle, soft, and dry with a beautiful creamy aspect to its body and a tongue clique tart finish and is a continuation of where our barrel aged program is headed. This is a beautiful beer for pairing with food or enjoying on its own. BAAG will continue to evolve over time if properly cellared.
