MC^2

on March 30, 2018 No comments

This Saturday 3/31 from 11:30am-6pm at the brewery, alongside Austin Plum and dHop3 we will be selling cans of MC² at $18 per four pack. Limit 1 case per person, limits subject to change as we only produced enough for 100 cases.

One of our favorite batches to date, MC² (8.0% ABV) is Photon’s big brother. We literally took Photon’s hopping rate and squared it. This DIPA is our tribute to the amazing relationship that energy and mass are balanced, proportional to the speed of a photon squared. It pours a hazy tangerine color, releasing bright tropical notes of mango, pineapple, and apricot. MC² tastes like succulent mango juice loaded with chewy hop resins. This batch really showcases the new school EQ juice finish we have been experimenting with.

Please note: We will be closed for Sunday for the Holiday.

dHop3!

This Saturday 3/31 from 11:30am-6pm at the brewery, alongside Austin Plum we will be selling cans of dHop3. $20 per 4-pack, limit 1 case per person.

dHop3 is a 8.5% DIPA that investigates the interplay between our fermentation and an intensive Mosaic, Citra, and Galaxy forward hop bill woven four times into its creative process. It pours a very murky tangerine color releasing notes of passion fruit, lime, and pineapple integrated with a juicy twist. The taste is highly resinous, dank-citrus, and pine with a brightness that builds towards the finish and ends with a graceful but firm bitterness. This batch really showcases the new EQ juice we’ve been experimenting with: think Sexual Fluctuation and Evenmore Unbalanced had a baby.

Austin Plum!

This Saturday 3/31 from 11:30am-6pm at the brewery we will be selling bottles of Austin Plum. $15 per bottle. Limits set at 6 bottles per person, limits subject to change.

Austin (6.0%ABV) is a farmhouse ale built by the inspiration to share beer with people close to heart. It is pale, tart, delicate, and complex with a bit of pleasant funk. Austin was then refermented on plums at a rate of more than 2 lbs of fruit per gallon for additional months. The result is a bright stone-fruit character boosted by the expression of our microorganism. This beer is unfiltered, unpasteurized, naturally carbonated and will continue to evolve over time if properly cellared.

dHop9

In addition to Even More Unbalanced, This Saturday 3/24 at the brewery from 11:30am-6:00pm we will be selling cans of dHop9 at $20 per four pack, 1 case per person. Limits are subject to change.

dHop9 – Think dHop5 but with another one of our favorite hop combos from the fractal series: Citra and Mosaic. dHop9 (8.5% ABV) is a DIPA that supersizes one of our favorite Equilibrium IPAs: Fractal Citra/Mosaic. We scaled Fractal’s grain bill, water treatment, fermentation, and super sized the hop bill of our new high oil citra and mosaic. dHop9 pours a milky straw yellow releasing notes of orange juice (with pulp), dank citrus, and earthy grass. The taste is highly resinous, dank pineapple juice, pine and a touch of melon. dHop9 possesses a chewy mouth feel with a firm, pointed bitterness.

Even More Unbalanced

on March 21, 2018 No comments

We are pleased to announce the release our first Triple IPA, Even More Unbalanced (10% ABV), in collaboration with Evil Twin Brewing this Saturday 3/24 from 11:30am-6pm at the brewery at $22 per four pack. Limit 1 case per person, limits subject to change.

This is the hoppiest beer ever brewed at Equilibrium to date. We were discussing with Jeppe how we consider Fluctuation to be perfectly unbalanced and he suggested that we push things even further. We decided to brew Even More Unbalanced together using a blend of Citra, Galaxy, Denali, Mosaic, and Amarillo with boundary pushing hop totals. It pours an intensely hazy glowing tangerine color releasing a penetrating hop blast of bright tropical mango, pineapple, apricot, and berry. The taste is blended tropical fruit that showcases the EQ juice experiments to date while remaining fluffy but with a proper bitterness for balance. If we would do anything over with this batch it would only be to change its name to: Give me your car keys. Please drink this responsibility, it’s a touch dangerous and can sneak up on you quickly.

This Saturday 3/17 from 11:30am-6pm at the brewery we will be selling cans of Vulgar Display of Flower at $18 per four pack. Limit 1 case per person, limits subject to change.

Vulgar Display of Flower (8.5% ABV) is a tribute to an aggressive yet balanced assault on the senses. It blends East-meets-West coast DIPA with our own Equilibrium twist. It is dry, bitter, piny, resinous, yet remains smooth, juicy, and drinkable. This concoction displays the hop flower’s assertive yet delicious nature.
