“… above the clouds where the sounds are original…
Infinite skills create miracles…”

Keeping the Gang Starr theme going, we bring you the companion beer to Above the Clouds (DIPA): Infinite Skills Create Miracles (TIPA). We used a tremendous amount of oats and wheat to start, but scaled things way up to a triple. Using a similar base blend of Citra and Idaho 7 for the whirlpool, we switched things up using Galaxy and Nelson for the dry hop. This beer doesn’t contain any lactose, but you wouldn’t know it by how soft and creamy it is. It pours bright yellow with a fruity aroma. The flavors are a mash up of Southern hemisphere island fruit papaya, mango and pineapple but with a touch of green seedless grapes. It’s extremely fluffy and creamy and the abv is well hidden in our #EQjuice finish.

Above The Clouds

This Saturday 08/31, starting at 11:30am at the brewery, we will be selling cans of Above The Clouds (8.0% ABV). $20 per four pack, Limit 1 case per person, limit subject to change.

If you walk onto the brew floor any given day, you’ll likely hear the guys playing a lot of late 90’s to early 00’s NY hip hop. Around 2 weeks ago we were brewing this still unnamed beer while “Above The Clouds” by Gang Starr was playing. Considering the recipe and style of what was cooking, we thought it would be a good nod to name it after the song playing and from one of our favorite groups around here.

Above the Clouds uses a heavy oat base and a whirlpool blend of Citra and Idaho 7. We then dry hopped it with Citra and the largest dose of Nelson to date and just a touch of lactose to really elevate its already velvety feel. It’s pours an opaque bright straw yellow with flavors of mixed citrus, a touch of sweet pine, gooseberry and faint notes of white wine grapes. The Nelson hops are showcased well and we find the flavors deep and complex while the #EQjuice finish is smooth and velvety thanks to our hopping processes.

We want to shout out one of our earliest local supporters, Anthony Q., for supplying the background picture for this label from a recent flight. 🙌🏼

Full Circle

on August 22, 2019 No comments

We are here, our first pilsner. Lagers were a style we started out drinking then moved on to hops, sours, and stouts and now we are back, Full Circle. We had some fun with our friends from Resident Culture who helped us out with this new style for us. Full Circle pours a pale golden yellow, is light bodied, crisp, and has mild notes of fresh cut grass, juniper, and summer breezes along with a nice short finish

dHop18

This Saturday 08/24, starting at 11:30am at the brewery, we will be selling cans of dHop 18 (8.5% ABV DIPA). $20 per four pack, Limit 1 case per person, limit subject to change.

Continuing onward with our investigative series which digs into how altering hops and hopping procedures impacts our DIPA’s, we bring you dHop 18. This iteration uses a heavily wheated base and is jam packed with Mosaic, the most we’ve used in the series yet. dHop 18 pours a hazy orange, has bright notes of citrus, melon, and a faint pine like earthiness with a matching layered flavor profile and a touch of dankness. The dry hopping technique we refer to as our “energy treatment” has given this beer an extreme brightness and drinkability bursting with our #EQjuice. If you liked some of the big juicy notes we pulled off with some of triples lately, you’ll probably be really happy with this double.

Something a little lighter on the way too..

Seven Izzup

This Saturday 08/17, starting at 11:30AM at the brewery, we will be selling cans of Seven Izzup (7.7% ABV DIPA), a collaboration with our homies,Civil Society Brewing. $20 per four pack. Limit 1 case per person, limit subject to change.

While we were discussing our love of New Zealand Hops, we took some tips from our friends from Florida on how to stay cool in this heat. Seven Izzup was conceptualized when we decided to try to brew one of our most refreshing DIPA’s yet. We used a large percentage wheat grain bill, Motueka and Citra in the whirlpool and then dry hopped it with additional Motueka and added Wakatu. If that wasn’t enough, we conditioned it on fresh lemon and lime zest to finish it off. Crack a can open and you’ll instantly grab a hoppy bursts with a touch of lemon and lime. The flavor is crisp and matches the aroma with a bright and spritzy assortment of citrus, lime, and earth while the pillowy mouthfeel makes this a total crusher. The #EQjuice finish is extremely bright and refreshing. Nothing does it like Seven Izzup, a real thirst quencher.

This Saturday 08/17, starting at 11:30AM at the brewery, we will be selling cans of Laboratory Tubes (10.0% ABV TIPA), a collaboration with our friends from Michigan, HOMES Brewery . $22 per four pack. Limit 1 case per person, limit subject to change.

A shared love of science and similar brewing principles made for a pretty fun time in the laboratory with Nick and Tommy. After tasting their leg of our collab, Tubes; we wanted to follow concept and brew something along the same lines. For Laboratory Tubes we used a combination of Mosaic, Idaho 7, and enigma in the whirlpool and then complemented those hops with a nice dose of Citra for the dry hop. Laboratory Tubes pours bright straw yellow, has notes of mango, lemon meringue, citrus, pine and light tropical fruits. Compared to SOTL, It’s soft and creamy with a more dank and saturated #EQjuiceflavor profile. This is the brew staff’s new favorite TIPA.

Infinity Polar Vortex

on August 7, 2019 No comments

This Saturday 08/10, starting at 11:30AM at the brewery, we will be selling cans of Infinity Polar Vortex (10.5% ABV TIPA), a collaboration with our buddies from @northernmonk. $22 per four pack. Limit 1 case per person, limit subject to change.

Infinity knows no bounds and neither does our love for trying to make the smoothest triple out there. Infinity Polar Vortex is a mash up of our very firstcollab with Northern Monk, Infinity Vortex and the beer known around the brewery as “Blackout Juice”, Polar Vortex. For IPV, we increased the wheat to give this beer even more body with a bigger mouthfeel and used a hop bill of Citra, Amarillo, and Barbe Rouge in the whirlpool and then dry hopped it with Columbus, Amarillo, Citra, Barbe Rouge, Mosaic, and Galaxy. It pours a deep bright yellow and has a strong nose of resinous pineapple and bright citrus. The flavor is still island fruit punch just like Polar Vortex, but with an underlying berry, cranberry, currant component . The #EQjuice finish will play tricks on you as this 10.5% beer is extremely smooth, balanced and downright chuggable.

Rock Fantasy

on August 1, 2019 No comments

This Saturday 08/03, starting at 11:30AM at the brewery, we are bringing you another collab, Rock Fantasy (7.5% % ABV DIPA) made with friends, Verdant Brewing Co . $20per four pack. Limit 1 case per person, limit subject to change.

Rock Fantasy recently celebrated 33 years in business and is one of our favorite places on the Middletown tour. It’s a two minute walk from the brewery and a frequent destination for all of the guest breweries that swing into town. Non-assuming from the front, this legendary music and pinball shop will blow your mind. When you walk into the back room, the bright fluorescent colors, vintage pinball machines, heavy metal music, and retro concert posters will totally mess with your head and transport you to a different time and place in the best way possible. When we brought our friends from Verdant Brewing there, it became clear we needed to make a beer along the same lines, a total assault on your mind and reality.

We started with a big dose of wheat and oats and used a matching hop bill for both the whirlpool and dry hop featuring equal amounts of Hull melon, Mandarina Bavaria, Barbe Rouge, Enigma, Galaxy, and Nelson. Just like its namesake, it’s a total blast with a very exotic variety of flavor. It has strong melon notes coupled with citrus, berry, and currant undertones. It’s pretty dank too, which we found fitting for the name. The finish is a smooth citrus-melon-berry combo with our #EQjuice profile. It’s a super fun beer named after a super fun place.

We want to thank Stephen Keeler, the brainchild and owner of @rockfantasyconcertshop for being a great neighbor and always welcoming us and our out of town guests with open arms.
