Fluctuation!

on June 14, 2018 No comments

This Saturday 6/16 from 11:30AM – 6PM at the brewery, along with Dream Wave Fluctuation, we will also have Fluctuation for your side-by-side enjoyment and when you need to ride the wave back to reality. $20 per four pack limit 1 case per person, limits subject to change.

Fluctuation pours a very hazy tangerine color, releasing bright tropical notes of passion fruit, mango, pineapple, and lychee with an undercurrent of sorbet and cream. Fluctuation tastes highly resinous and tropical with an assertive yet soft bitterness. We consider Fluctuation to be perfectly unbalanced.

Dream Wave Fluctuation!

on June 13, 2018 No comments

This Saturday 6/16 from 11:30AM – 6PM at the brewery, we will be debut cans of our Other Half Collaboration: Dream Wave Fluctuation (8.1% DIPA) at $20 per four pack. Limit 1 case per person, limits subject to change.

Think of a galaxy forward Fluctuation plus Other Half’s Dream treatment. A fluctuation from beta brain waves to alpha and theta waves shifts your consciousness from alertness, cognition, and concentration to a dream state of relaxation, visualization, creativity, intuition, and vivid visual imagery. Sam from Other Half came up to brew with us and we discussed potential synergies between our two heavily hopped styles. We ended up taking EQs fluctuation grain bill and adding oats and (for the first time in EQ commercial application) lactose in-line with Other Half’s Dream treatment. This beer was followed by an aggressive dry hop of Galaxy and Citra.

Dream Wave Fluctuation pours a hazy glowing tangerine color releasing aromas of passion fruit, peach, lactose, and pineapple all integrated with a juicy twist. The taste is a smooth a bright creamy tropical wave of flavor with a touch of sweet that is dangerously drinkable and balanced.

Some of his duties include keeping the fermenters and brite tanks squeaky clean, transferring beer, assisting with set up and helping run the canning line. He also bottles and packages.

Following his degree, he hopes to transfer to a viticulture and enology program which will further enrich his knowledge of the cultivation of grapes and wine making. Matt often brings samples of his mead and wine to share around the brewery, we love those days.

The return of Photon!

on June 6, 2018 No comments

This Saturday June 9th marks the one year anniversary of our very first can sale. We want to take this opportunity to thank all of the people who supported us over the past year. We have grown closer with our community, built relationships with many and have made wonderful friends along the way. We are thankful for all of it and all of you. We are thrilled to be located in such a blossoming region for beer. With that said we wanted to bring back a beer in can form to commemorate the day.

This Saturday 6/9 from 11:30am-6pm at the brewery we will be selling cans of Photon at $14 per four pack. Limit 1 case per person, limits subject to change.
Photon (4.8% ABV) is our light and crushable American Pale Ale loaded with pacific northwest hops. It pours a very hazy orange, releasing well-blended notes of apricot, tangerine, peach, mango, and pineapple. It tastes of soft juicy tropical fruits, hop resins, and a hint of biscuit.

TABA Mango!

This Saturday, 6/9 at the brewery from 11:30am-6pm and alongside Photon we will be releasing There and Back Again Mango (6% ABV) at $15 per bottle. Limit 4pp. (subject to change)
There and Back Again is a tale of a spontaneous fermentation, isolation, confiscation, rejuvenation, mutation, and finally perturbation. This sour American wild ale is a collaborative effort with our dear friend Dr. Jason Rodriguez. We took our house “honey badger” mixed culture (no saccharomyces) and allowed it to ferment and sour over several months before refermenting it on mango. The result is a bright and clean mango flavor boosted by the tropical expression of our microorganisms. This beer is unfiltered, unpasteurized, naturally carbonated and will continue to evolve over time if properly cellared.

OG!

on June 5, 2018 No comments

Meet Kyle, he was the first of the now three employees who share the same name. To limit confusion at the brewery, he is known around here as OG Kyle. OG Kyle is our assistant brewer. He works closely with Ryan to produce our beer. Some of his duties include preparing and gathering ingredients needed for the brew day like hops, grain and yeast. He also takes care of dry hopping, transfers between, and carbonation as well as overseeing packaging. He maintains equipment for beer production including prepping the fermenters and brite tanks while keeping an eye on ingredient inventory, scheduling and distribution of packaged beer.

Speed Round:
If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you want to have with you?
A boat, an airplane or a high quality raft so I could get off the island immediately.

Do you have any secret talents?
I can walk on my hands and jump higher than my co-worker Dino.

Favorite recent memory at EQ?
When Ricky stated on his spotlight post that he has a collection of swords and knives

What’s your biggest pet peeve?
When my co-worker Matt puts pencils in his man-bun. I don’t know why but it bothers me.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
This one time I ordered a pizza with chicken tenders, French fries, and honey mustard as toppings.

What’s your favorite Equilibrium Beer?
Fluctuation!
