Hey Rochester! We will be in town this weekend.

This Friday 6/8 at 4pm we are having a mobile can sale with our friends at Tap and Mallet. Cans of dHop4, MC^2 and A New Level will be available along with some of our beers on tap. Limits and more details will be posted by them over the next few days.

On Saturday 6/9 we will be serving our beer at the Rochester Real Beer Expo We are bringing our hoppiest beer to date; A New Level and our wild ales TABA Mango and TABA Pineapple. Come by and try some of our liquid while we are in town!

This Saturday 6/2 from 11:30AM – 6PM at the brewery and in addition to cans of MC^2 (8.0% at $18 per four pack), we will be debut cans of A New Level (8.5% DIPA) at $22 per four pack. Limit 1 case per person, limits subject to change. Note we only have about 100 cases due to the extreme amount of hops used in this beer.

A New Level of Science and Flower – At 9 lbs/bbl of hops, this new level of hopping makes this the hoppiest beer to date at EQ. This naturally had to be added to our metal series. This is an extremely experimental beer: we employed a new technique we’re calling our Maelstrom of Saltstraumen whirlpool, in honor of the worlds strongest maelstrom. A New Level pours an intensely hazy glowing tangerine color releasing a penetrating hop blast of dank tropical mango, pineapple, pine, apricot, and earth. The taste is blended tropical fruit that showcases the EQ juice experiments to date with a gummy body and a firm bitterness for balance. Note: Due to hop loss, we have an extremely low beer yield for this batch.

Meet Jess, she works in packaging and sales here at Equilibrium. Assisting with the canning and bottling process, she helps get beer to you once it’s ready. You may have also seen her on sales days slinging crowlers and merch!

Speed Round:
•What gateway beer opened your eyes to the world of beer?
Sam Adams! It was my introduction to beer with flavor. It started with Boston Lager, and led me to try all of the other styles they were making. Then I started to seek out pretty much any other craft beer I could find in my local shops. It’s amazing how much the industry and culture have evolved since then.
•What is your favorite meal of the day?
Breakfast! Pancakes, bacon and runny eggs. Anytime of day.
•What is something you are very passionate about?
Besides beer and breakfast? Dogs. I’ve been working with dogs for over ten years. From dog training and behavior, to volunteering for rescue groups. It’s very rewarding to help a dog find a home, and also to help humans understand their dogs better.
•What would you considered be a perfect day?
The best days always involve ‪good beer‬, good food, and good people to share it with.
•What are some of your favorite music genres?
I enjoy MANY genres of music. My current rotation includes things like ‪Depeche Mode‬, the Bones of J.R. Jones, and ‪Iron Maiden‬.
•If you could hop on a plane right now, where would you go?
Since I don’t have a passport… I would go back to Northern California. Great beer and beautiful scenery.
•What hobbies do you have outside of beer?
I love to go hiking when I have the time. There’s nothing more satisfying than drinking a nice cold beer on top of a mountain that you just climbed.
I’m also into horror movies and enjoy attending horror conventions. I’ve met a ton of interesting people. There’s a community there not unlike our craft community.
•What is one of your favorite memories at EQ so far?
I started out at Equilibrium as a volunteer, helping out whenever my schedule allowed. If I had to choose one moment, it would be the day Ricardo sat me down in his office and asked me to join the Equilibrium team officially. There have been many great memories made since then, and there will be many more to come!

In case you need to maintain your coordination (e.g. skate park) or just prefer some nice easy drinking for Memorial Day, on Friday 5/25 from 5 PM- 9 PM at the brewery, in addition to TABA Guava/Passsion fruit and dHop6, we will be selling cans (small canning runs ~50 cases per beer) of Mmm… Osa (4.8% ABV) at $14 per four pack and cans of a new American Pale Ale Tachyon (5.5% ABV) at $15 per four pack. Limit 1 case per person, limits subject to change.

Mmm… Osa is our beloved Photon American Pale Ale conditioned on freshly zested oranges at a rate of 6 oranges per barrel. It is everything photon is, with a dominant orange presence; this citric delight is our preferred way to start the afternoon.

Tachyon is a theoretical particle that’s a bit more than a Photon. To turn theoretical physics into reality, we took Photon and upped the ABV to 5.5% and hopped it at the rate of the fractal series, resulting in an intensely hopped but low ABV crushable American Pale Ale. It pours a very hazy orange, releasing well-blended notes of dank apricot, tangerine, peach, mango, and pineapple. It tastes of soft juicy tropical fruits and hop resins. A smooth pointed bitterness with a touch of dryness ensures you’re ready for the next sip. This drinking experience is further enhanced with a soft and billowy mouth-feel that has made this the go to ale for the Equilibrium crew, especially when gearing up for a holiday weekend.

This Friday 5/25 from 5pm-9pm at the brewery and in addition to TABA Guava Passionfruit we will be selling cans of dHop6 (8.5% DIPA) at $20 per four pack. Limit 1 case per person, limits subject to change.

MC² is a very important beer to us at Equilibrium. We are very happy with the balance of flavor and drinkability and hence why MC2 was promoted to our Equilibrium series. We wanted to continue to have fun with it.

dHop6 is the closest thing we will make to DDH MC². We kept everything the same but increased the dry hop dosing with the same hops at the same ratio, just more. dHop6 pours a very hazy tangerine color, releasing dank and bright tropical notes of mango, apricot, earth, pineapple, berry, with a touch of weed. dHop6 tastes like succulent hop juice with a round velvety mouthfeel.
To address some of your questions on the ticket system for the holiday release schedule, we want to mention we will be handing out tickets at 2pm on Friday.

This Saturday 5/19 from 11:30am-6pm at the brewery we will be selling cans of Vulgar Display of Flower at $18 per four pack. Limit 1 case per person, limits subject to change.
Vulgar Display of Flower (8.5% ABV) is a tribute to an aggressive yet balanced assault on the senses. It blends East-meets-West coast DIPA with our own Equilibrium twist. It is dry, bitter, piny, resinous, yet remains smooth, juicy, and drinkable. This concoction displays the hop flower’s assertive yet delicious nature.
