Ampere

on September 30, 2020 No comments

Today, at Noon, we will sell Ampere, (10.0 % ABV TIPA) at $22 per 4-pk, no limit. We will have this available with options for curbside pickup at the brewery or delivery throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire, Vermont, North Dakota, and Virginia. Please follow individual State guidelines on limitations.
Our latest TIPA using our Energy Process is here. Ampere is named after the French physicist André-Marie Ampère who is now considered the father of electrodynamics. Also known as “amp”, Ampere is the basic unit of electric current equal to one coulomb per second. We applied our Energy Treatment to a massive hop bill of Mosaic and our new magic
Galaxy using the same heavy wheat and oat grainbill as Joule
Ampere pours electric yellow and has an aroma of assorted citrus and mango with flavors of orange, cantaloupe, pineapple, and mango smoothie with a touch of earth and grass like your Dad mowed the lawn and accidently ran over the blueberry bush. The mouthfeel is creamy with a pop from our #EQjuce finish. With a nearly undetectable 10% ABV, this Triple will flow through you at max amps.

Project Geisha

on September 30, 2020 No comments

This Wednesday, 9/30, at 9 AM on Eventbrite, we will sell Project Geisha (13 % ABV ) $28 per 500ML bottle. Limit 1 bottle per person. No Proxies! For shipping, names must match delivery address. No minimum for shipping but flat rate is in place for shipping. Please add Eventbrite Order number when checking out on our website and please claim by 10/10/20.

Project Geisha is another extremely special beer to us made with our friends from Mostra Coffee. We took the last remaining barrel of the base stout that eventually became Swiss Bliss and allowed it to further mature for a total time of more than 18 months to meld and develop with oak, char, and its former Buffalo Trace occupant. We added just one thing: Mostra Bambito Estate Geisha Coffee, an extremely rare coffee from Bambito Estate in Panama. Coveted for its flavor, it can only be grown at high altitudes with certain soil profiles so only a small amount is produced at each harvest. It’s known for its intense floral aroma as well as along with flavors of milk chocolate, marzipan, lychee, Meyer lemon and blackberries.

Project Geisha pours pitch black with a rich tan head. It features bright and clean notes of creamy chopped bakers chocolate, caramel, Cadbury Crème egg filled with bourbon, oak, young blackberry, and plum skin. Deep layered flavors of rich brownie, full bodied cold brew coffee, American oak integrate into a silky and luxurious mouthfeel that are balanced by bright notes of lemon, blackberry jam, and rollercoaster of flavor ends with lovely barrel heat balanced by some port-like sweetness.

Mesocyclone

on September 28, 2020 No comments

Today, we will sell the next beer in our Project Elevate Series, Mesocyclone (10.0 % ABV TIPA) at $22 per 4-pk, no limit. We will have this available with options for curbside pickup at the brewery or delivery throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire, Vermont, North Dakota, and Virginia. Please follow individual State guidelines on limitations.

Mesocyclone is a storm-scale region of rotation that can lead to a tornado. A Doppler alert was issued not too far from the brewery so naturally we took flight to investigate. What followed was an amazing almost UFO-like whirling structure complete with lightning bolts. If you watch the video to the end, the mesocyclone leads to an incredible change of sky color, sometimes even producing COTTON CANDY SKIES… but more on that soon…
We started with a base of wheat and flaked oats before a giant mesocyclone of El Dorado, Citra, Belma, and Galaxy in the whirlpool followed up with the same hops in the Dry Hop. Mesocyclone pours an opaque bright yellow with an aroma of orange marmalade and tropical fruits. Flavors of just squeezed oranges, passionfruit, and ripe peach lead into a creamy mouthfeel with pops of fresh fruit. The masked ABV is makes this beer tasty and flavorful while remaining totally drinkable for its size.
Please see the second slide for a still image and video of the Meso Cyclone in the comments starting to create Cotton Candy Skies. To download the wallpaper and video, head over to the link below.

Celebrating Blåbær in 2020 is a bit different from previous formats and it left us with some questions. When the idea of doing a Farmhouse Ale with blueberries and dragonfruit came up, naturally, we asked Jeppe, the Captain of Team Blåbær: How Do Blåbærry Dragons Blow Out Candles? To answer this important question, we took EQ’s base farmhouse Austin, and let it rest in Chardonnay Barrels that previously held 2018 Unlikely Foragers. With a brett strain isolated from our favorite spontaneous Blueberry Lambic, we let it rest on blueberries, dragonfruit, and raspberries. This beer was further bottle conditioned for several months. Balanced and refined notes of Belgian Watermelon Jolly Ranchers, passion fruit, pleasant funk, touch of white wine, oak, raspberry, savory umami, soft blueberry skins, and a balanced acidity choreograph under a white head. This beer is unfiltered, unpasteurized, naturally carbonated, and will continue to evolve over time if properly cellared.

Super Fractal Cosmos Set

on September 23, 2020 No comments

Today, we will sell Super Fractal Cosmos Set (10.0 % ABV TIPA) at $22 per 4-pk, no limit. We will have this available with options for curbside pickup at the brewery or delivery throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire, Vermont, North Dakota, and Virginia. Please follow individual State guidelines on limitations.
The next beer in both our Project Elevate and Super Fractal Series is here. Planets assemble around stars, stars group together into galaxies, galaxies assemble into clusters, and clusters to form large-scale superclusters. As Astronomers study the cosmos on ever expanding scales, they have been surprised to find repeating fractal like structure. At part of this scale, The Milky Way is the galaxy that contains our Solar System, with the name describing the galaxy’s appearance from Earth: a hazy band of light seen in the night sky formed from stars. The label image, which was shot locally, graces the can of the latest Super Fractal Set. Super Fractal Cosmos Set starts off with our Super Fractal base and fermentation process before an ALL GALAXY hop bill, a first for the Super Fractal Series.
Pouring hazy tangerine, you’ll notice an aroma and flavor profile of a pineapple-mango smoothie, starfruit, passionfruit, papaya, and juicy stone fruit wrapped in a grassy dank finish. The mouthfeel is fluffy and creamy with a buildup of our #EQjuice right at the end of your sip. The beer is best enjoyed on cool nights outdoors looking up.

Ananeóno

on September 23, 2020 No comments

Today, we will sell our collab with Carton Brewing, Ananeóno (10.0 % ABV TIPA) at $22 per 4-pk, no limit. We will have this available with options for curbside pickup at the brewery or delivery throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire, Vermont, North Dakota, and Virginia. Please follow individual State guidelines on limitations.
Back in the summer of 2019, we brewed Ouroboros with our friends at Carton Brewing. When Augie and his crew came to visit EQ this summer it seemed only fitting to continue with this cyclic theme during this complex year and brew a beer that means: “renew, renovate, replenish, revive, refresh, and regrowth as part of a cycle”.
Ananeóno uses a Blended malt bill of white wheat, flaked oats, oat malt, with a touch honey malt and an all New Zealand hopbill of Riwaka, Nelson, Motueka, Moutere, Waimea, and a hop under its new name: Nectaron.
Ananeóno pours sunlight-through-kiwi-fog with a very thick and stable head releasing notes of berry, white wine grape, cantaloupe, followed by the Riwaka complexity of passionfruit and slight hint of bright white pepper. The flavor follows the smell with citrus, and bright grassy creamy melon evolving throughout the sip. This beer has a strong metamorphosis as it warms and breaths so we suggest pouring it cold, sipping it slowly, and enjoying its evolution while taking a moment to refresh, revive, and replenish.

Fractal Nelson/Galaxy

on September 23, 2020 No comments

Today, at noon, we will sell Fractal Nelson/Galaxy (6.8 % IPA) $17 per 4-PK, no limit. We will have this available with options for curbside pickup at the brewery or delivery throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire, Vermont, North Dakota, and Virginia! (Please follow individual State limits for delivery)
A fractal is something simple at the core that can produce wonderful and amazingly complex results. This beer only has pale malt and the stated hops. Investigating how different hops manifest through our processes allows us to optimize both our use of hops and our hopping techniques. This beer utilizes our new hand selected Hop Revolution Nelson combined with our newest Aussie Galaxy crop. Fractal Nelson / Galaxy pours a resinous-hazy-yellow releasing complex aromas and flavors of citrus, papaya and passionfruit and a touch of white grape following with a resinous but juicy and creamy mouthfeel. The medley of characteristics makes the name “Fractal Galaxy” warranted indeed.

More to Come!

A hawk of the Accipiter family graces the label of one of our biggest stouts to date. We took the largest amount of coconut ever and teamed up with @eqbonfire to bake Coconut Macaroons to add directly to this beer along with a healthy dose of Thai Bananas, and Cacao Nibs. Accipiter pours nighthawk black with a creamy tan head releasing aromas of bake-shop macaroons, fresh brownies, coconut, and decedent banana. Viscous and syrup like, this fudge base is kissed with sweet coconut flakes and balanced banana flavor letting your first sip evolve from swirls of fudge, nougat, vanilla, pulverized Mounds bar, and spoons of banana cream pie wrapped up in high gravity thick finish. A staff favorite, Accipiter is the product of collaboration and what comes from projects that get you excited.
Please enjoy this beer close to room temperature and drink fresh to take advantage of what these adjuncts have to offer.

Koru

on September 18, 2020 No comments

Today, at noon, we will sell Koru (10.0 % ABV TIPA) at $22 per 4-pk, no limit. We will have this available with options for curbside pickup at the brewery or delivery throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire, Vermont, North Dakota, and Virginia. Please follow individual State guidelines on limitations.
The Koru is a spiral shape based on the appearance of a new unfurling silver fern frond. It is an integral symbol in New Zealand Māori art, carving and tattooing, where it symbolizes new life, growth, strength and peace. Utilizing the same fermentation process and grain bill as its cousin, Super Fractal Koru Set, we made this beer with 100% Nelson from Hop Revolutions first ever harvest. We are very excited to work with Dr. Susan Wheeler and her team from Hop Revolution moving forward.
Koru pours like a glass of OJ and has a matching aroma crossed with lime and mango. Flavors of grove stand orange juice, papaya, lime and berry lead with a hint of green grape and earthiness. The explosive OJ and berry juice flavors come together with a soft snd creamy mouthfeel and our signature #EQjuice finish. A hidden ABV is dangerous and it may have you seeing spirals sooner than you think.
