dHop 15 starts off with a Citra whirlpool and a big dose of Enigma and Citra for the dry hop, it pours an opaque bright yellow and has an aroma of melon and light tropical fruits. Upon tasting, we get notes of white wine, earthy dankness, papaya, orange creamsicle and tropical fruit with and a very pronounced escalating brightness from the #EQjuice.

on December 11, 2020 No commentsToday at 12PM we will sell, Middletown Waves (10% TIPA) $22 per 4-PK, no limit. We will have this available with options for curbside pickup at the brewery or delivery throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire, Vermont, North Dakota, and Virginia! (Please follow individual State limits for delivery)
Middletown Waves takes one of our favorite triples, Straight out of Middletown
and adds a balanced amount of lactose and a heavy dose of oats showcasing an even thicker and creamier finish. This batch has a hand selected Mosaic and Citra hop bill used at a higher hopping rate. It pours a very murky tangerine color and releases aromas of fresh squeezed orange juice and earthy grass. The taste is resinous nectar of dank-citrus, light pine and orange push-pops. It has a rounded bitterness and a chewy but creamy mouth feel. The #EQjuice finish is very prominent and this beer drinks like a juicy orange creamsicle or orange sherbet in liquid form.

Using an increased hop rate on this batch, Fractal Enigma / Citra investigates the interplay between Enigma and Citra, and our revised processes.
Fractal Enigma / Citra pours a resinous-hazy-straw yellow releasing complex aromas of pinot gris white wine, bright grass, mango and tropical melon. The taste follows the aroma with a resinous creamy mouthfeel and a firm but rounded bitterness.
OG’S Axe
on December 10, 2020 No commentsToday at 12 PM we will sell, OG’s Axe (8.0% DIPA) a collaboration with Fidens Brewing Company at $20 per four pack available for curbside pickup at the brewery or delivery throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire, Vermont, North Dakota, and Virginia!
Fidens Brewing visited Middletown a few weeks to do a spin off of their beer, Eugene’s Axe. Since OG, our Henry Street head brewer, first met Fidens last year, we all thought it was fitting for OG to hold the Axe this time, as he’s constantly chopping down hop monsters to bring everyone delicious liquid. Be careful with that Axe, OG!
OG’s Axe starts off with an enormous base of oats before adding Citra, Strata, and Galaxy. Pouring hazy yellow with aromatic pops of pineapple, citrus, and crushed berry you’ll notice flavors of papaya, mango, weed and passionfruit exploding into a creamy, dank, and thick popsicle finish lined with #EQjuice. This beer is crushable dank juice, we don’t recommend holding sharp objects after consumption.

That lab juice is loose, this time in a DIPA. The next step in developing a mathematical model to optimize a desired flavor profile is understanding the relevant mass fluxes. Lessons learned from control volume helped create Straight Outta the Laboratory, which in turn helped us identify the relevant mass fluxes to create that EQ Juice.
Mass Fluxes pours a hazy bright tangerine and has aromas of freshly squeezed tropical fruit, lime, grapefruit, and freshly cut grass. The flavor is bright tropical orange juice with mango, with a resinous and chewy mouthfeel. The finish has an escalating brightness balanced by a soft bitterness.
