dHop 5

on October 20, 2020 No comments

Today, we will be selling dHop 5 (8.0 % DIPA) at $20 per 4-pk (No Limit). We will have this available with options for curbside pickup at the brewery or delivery throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire, Vermont, North Dakota, and Virginia!
dHop5 is a 8.0% DIPA that supersizes one of our favorite Equilibrium IPAs: Fractal Citra/Galaxy. We scaled Fractal’s grain bill, water treatment, fermentation, and super sized the hop bill of citra and galaxy. dHop5 pours a milky yellow releasing aromas of passion fruit, peach, lime, and pineapple all integrated with a sorbet twist. The taste is a bright creamy tropical flavor that is dangerously drinkable and balanced with our signature #EQjuice finish.

Today at noon, from our website, we will sell, Sauvignon Blanc Barrel Aged Unlikely Foragers (6.5% Farmhouse Ale). $14 per 375ml, Limit 3 bottles per person. We will have this available with options for curbside pickup at the brewery or delivery throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire, Vermont, North Dakota, and Virginia. Brewed in 2019, right after our yearly dandelion blossom forage, we let this beer sit in select Sauvignon Blanc barrels for almost a year. Following its transformation, we further conditioned it for 3 months prior to its release. The resulting liquid pours a deep golden yellow with a billowy head.
Flowery notes of lemon and lime sprite, green apple, and a touch of passionfruit lead into a spritzy but full bodied beer that finishes with an earthy minerality and a touch of oak. This beer is delicate with a balanced acidity and restrained tartness. A lovely reminder of what barrels can do and a great introduction to beer for the wine lover in your life.
This beer will continue to evolve over time if properly cellared.

Einstein’s Little Favorite

on October 15, 2020 No comments

Today at noon, we will sell, Einstein’s Little Favorite (4.8 % Pale Ale) $18 per 4-PK, no limit. We will have this available with options for curbside pickup at the brewery or delivery throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire, Vermont, North Dakota, and Virginia! Einstein’s Little Favorite is a pale ale form of a beer we love, Einsteins Favorite. First tested for Energy Evolution Day in 2019, we had a fun idea to treat a keg and mimic what was said to be Albert Einstein’s favorite dessert, Sticky Orange Cake. From there we made a bigger batch in Triple Form. For Energy Evolution 2020, we wanted to try a weeknight friendly version.
We took our pale ale base and hopped it with citra, mosaic, simcoe, and galaxy before a massive dose of Florida navel orange zest and Madagascar vanilla.
This easy drinking dessert themed beer has bright notes and flavors of fresh orange slices, vanilla frosting, and Mom’s birthday cake in and a smooth creamy #EQjuice finish. Smooth and chuggable, this is the beer you can drink and still get your equations in.

Fractal Vic Secret

We will have this available with options for curbside pickup at the brewery or delivery throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire, Vermont, North Dakota, and Virginia! (Please follow individual State limits for delivery)
A fractal is something simple at the core that can produce wonderful and amazingly complex results. This series helps us investigate how different hops manifest through our processes and allows us to optimize both our use of hops and our hopping techniques.
This beer is made with only pale malt and a Vic Secret hop bill. Fractal Vic Secret pours hazy-straw yellow releasing aromas of pineapple, pine and passionfruit. The taste is fruity with a dank cannabis character. It’s clean and earthy with a pointed bitterness. The medley of characteristics makes the name “Fractal Vic Secret” warranted indeed.

MC³

Today at noon, we are happy to bring back our annual batch of MC³ (10.0 % TIPA) $22 per 4-PK, no limit. We will have this available with options for curbside pickup at the brewery or delivery throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire, Vermont, North Dakota, and Virginia! The evolution is here. MC³ breaks the laws of physics and implodes reality. Our flagship DIPA ‘MC²’ is photon’s hopping rate SQUARED, this TIPA is photon’s hop bill CUBED. Where Photon explodes into a rainbow of flavors, our first ever Double Whirlpool (DW) creates a rainbow of flavor that gets focused back to a singular stream of deliciousness as the next step in this energy evolution. This unique DW works synergistically with the appropriate Energy DH treatment.
MC³ is basically MC² on the maximum permissible dose (MPD) of steroids. Extremely bright citrus, big mango, and assorted melon aroma and flavors. A dense hop saturated mouthfeel from our Double Whirlpool coats the tongue and our EQ juice is amplified by our Energy dry-hop methods to near cosmic boom levels.
To help celebrate Energy Evolution 2020 safely, join us for our virtual team toast on Instagram on 10/23 at 5PM!
Also at Noon today, we will sell our EQ juice glassware and Energy Evolution Tee’s. Glasses are available in purple, red, or aqua. $12 each and tee’s are $25 each.

Glassware and shirts can be ordered ahead for curbside pickup starting today at Noon or through https://www.eqbrew.com/shop (link in bio) for merch shipping.

We know that Einstein’s findings state that Energy (E) equals mass (m) times the speed of light (c) squared (2), or E=mc2. The secret of the equation revealed that mass and energy are different forms of the same thing. Our Flagship beer MC² celebrates Einstein’s findings, but what if we tried to evolve from there?
New for Energy Evolution 2020, we wanted to continue to explore the MC² series, so we are bringing you Energy Evolved.

Energy Evolved takes a DDH MC² and adds a colossal dose of our most favorite batch of galaxy yet to the dry hop, our energy treatment, and a touch of lactose for smoothness. Energy Evolved glows on its pour with an hoppy explosion of flavors like ripe mango, OJ, papaya, and passionfruit fruit leading into a full citrus portfolio that’s blended with notes of pineapple gummy bears and tropical push-ups. This beer is extremely creamy and POPS with our #EQjuice finish.

Tasman C

Today at noon, we will sell, Tasman C (5.0 % Pale Ale) $15 per 4-PK, no limit. We will have this available with options for curbside pickup at the brewery or delivery throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire, Vermont, North Dakota, and Virginia! The Tasman Sea is an area in the South Pacific Ocean, situated between Australia and New Zealand. Noted for gigantic waves of up to 1,000 feet high, these waves are actually ‘internal ocean waves’ which form, move and break like waves you surf, but do so deep down in the ocean. These mountainous swells move at about 6 miles per hour with massive force. When we had the opportunity to use hops exclusively from Australia and New Zealand in our pale ale, C, Tasman C was born.
Tasman C starts off with our pale ale base and a whirlpool of galaxy, enigma, and citra. We then dry hopped it with galaxy and nelson and gave this beer our Energy Treatment to enhance the aroma and flavor. Notes of passionfruit, orange, grape, and berry coat the palate before a soft and crushable #EQfinish. If you’re missing the sun and the surf, this beer definitely gives off beach vibes.

Infinite Skills Create Miracles

We will have this available with options for curbside pickup at the brewery or delivery throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire, Vermont, North Dakota, and Virginia! “… above the clouds where the sounds are original…
Infinite skills create miracles…”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Keeping the Gang Starr theme going, we bring you the companion beer to Above the Clouds (DIPA): Infinite Skills Create Miracles (TIPA). We used a tremendous amount of oats and wheat to start, but scaled things way up to a triple. Using a similar base blend of Citra and Idaho 7 for the whirlpool, we switched things up using our Magic Galaxy and Nelson for the dry hop. This beer doesn’t contain any lactose, but you wouldn’t know it by how soft and creamy it is. It pours bright yellow with a fruity aroma. The flavors are a mash up of Southern Hemisphere island fruit with papaya, mango and pineapple but with a touch of green seedless grapes. It’s extremely fluffy and creamy and the ABV is well hidden in our #EQjuice finish.

Above The Clouds

on October 8, 2020 No comments

Today at noon, we will sell, Above The Clouds (8.0 % DIPA) $20 per 4-PK, no limit. We will have this available with options for curbside pickup at the brewery or delivery throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire, Vermont, North Dakota, and Virginia! (Please follow individual State limits for delivery)
If you walk onto the brew floor any given day, you’ll likely hear the guys playing a lot of late 90’s to early 00’s NY hip hop. This beer was inspired by the song playing at the time of the recipe creation: “Above The Clouds” by Gang Starr.
Above the Clouds uses a heavy oat base and a whirlpool blend of Citra and Idaho 7. We then dry hopped it with Citra and the large dose of Nelson and just a touch of lactose to really elevate its velvety feel. It’s pours a bright and opaque yellow with flavors of mixed citrus, a touch of sweet pine, gooseberry and faint notes of white wine grapes. The years Nelson crop are showcased well and we find the flavors deep and complex while the #EQjuice finish is smooth and velvety thanks to our hopping processes. We want to shout out one of our earliest local supporters, Anthony Q., for supplying the background picture for this label from a recent flight.
